Halloween Haunts in St. Augustine

Halloween is quickly approaching, and there are so many fun ways to celebrate! Halloween offers tons of fun, local events that are great for families, couples, and friends to participate in. Whether you're looking for something good for the kids, or a spooky Halloween haunt, we have got you covered with ideas!

For the Kids

Pumpkin Patch- If you are taking your kids out for some fun, family time, look no further than your local pumpkin patch. Sykes and Cooper Farm is a great spot to spend the day picking out the best pumpkins for carving.

Corn Maze- Pack up the kids and head out to Conner's A-Maize-Ing Acres for a day of navigating a corn maze! See if you can find your way around the multiple mazes, and enjoy the farm animals all day long!

Fall Festivals- Are your kids music fans? Head out to the Creekside Music and Arts Festival for a weekend of tons of live music, hay rides, and games that the kids can participate in. Halloween costumes are encouraged for kids!

For the Adults

We know that some of the spooky stuff can be too much for the kids, so we created a list to cater to those who enjoy Halloween-themed haunts!

Festive 5K- While there are several options for Halloween 5k's, one to be on the lookout for is the Ancient City Brewing Boos and Brews 5k. Participants are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes to show some *spirit* during the race! Ancient City Brewing is offering a free pint and a Race Day pint glass to participants, and they are hosting an after-party for runners at the brewery!

Adult Dance Party- The Boo Boogie Halloween Dance Party is coming up! This 21+ Halloween-themed dance party makes for a fun date night. The DJs plan to keep you on your feet all night with their playlists, and there will be a costume contest, so make sure to show up in your Halloween best!

Haunted Tour- If you're looking for a fright, check out the Old Jail After Dark. The Old Jail is noted as one of the most haunted spots in the whole country! This haunt is not for the faint hearted; it features an actual investigation of paranormal activities with professionals in the field. Test your courage with this exciting, spine-chilling event!

Cemetery Sightings- Many of us would rather run for the hills than spend a day in a haunted cemetery, but for those who are fascinated by the paranormal, Huguenot Cemetery is a prime location. This cemetery is believed to hold some 436 bodies, many of which died from yellow fever. While that may not seem like an unnatural way of dying, many spirits remain in the graveyard. Many sightings of different spirits have been reported at all times of the day, so if the idea of ghosts at night scares you, try your luck at seeing a ghost in the middle of the day!

St. Augustine is considered a real hot-spot for the paranormal, but if that isn't your thing, there are plenty of fun, non-spooky events to participate in all month long! From haunted hay rides to costume parties, St. Augustine is a great spot to spend this Halloween!
